New Cartoons vs Old Cartoons

Tommy, the REAL Monsters, Courage, Ash, and Goku are all better than the garbage that is on television today. I decided to watch a few new-age cartoons today, and comparing them to the ones I watched in elementary school was ludicrous.

These new cartoons are vulgar, and too old for kids. Is it just that I am catching things I didn't as a kid? Or have things really changed?

Movies like The Lion King and shows like Rugrats just seemed so much more innocent and fun. What do you think? I'm personally less than amazed with today's lineups.

Is Print Journalism Dead?

Is print Journalism dying or dead? If it is, Charlie Sheen is sane. It's more bologna than a bologna sandwich. Seriously though, many people claim that print is dying because of online papers, iPhones, iPads, and other electronics.

Print is not dead, or going to die anytime soon. Just look at the economics of it all. A Kentucky Kernel costs nothing; a Herald Leader around a dollar. An iPad costs $500, bare minimum. So, in order to get your money's worth in the news you would have to: read the entirety of the Herald Leader 500 times online. In many cases, you even have to pay for subscriptions to magazines and newspapers. To get bang for your buck, just grab a paper.

Another reason why print won't die is people loving reading ink. Some are so attached to the tactile, real feeling of books and ink, they can't read from an electronic device. There something romantic about holding a book by the fire, there's nothing romantic about curling up with your Sony E-Reader or iPad.

You might like your iPad or your iPhone, but to pay that much for it (just to get the news) is something Charlie Sheen would approve of. Print is not dead, and won't die.

Is Maturity Overrated?

Peter Pan was just as correct as Socrates. Or, at least, as far as a personal philosophy goes. Him and I both never wanted to grow up.

I think males, especially those in college, get looked down upon too much for being boys. This is technically our last chance to be immature before we go into the "real world." I see kids at UK acting like men, or at least trying to, around the girls they talk to in school. They talk about their jobs, class, and things like that. Live a little, enjoy your youth and quit growing up so quickly.

I still play video games, I still get excited when I get new "toys," such as electronics or accessories for my vehicle. I still have a short attention span and lots of pride; there is something so hard to let go about the fun of boyhood.

As Peter Pan said, "I want always to be a boy, and have fun." I agree with him, why rush to adulthood and let boredom take control this early? I'm only 18, and I plan to stay 18 for a few more years.

Welcome!

Welcome to my blog, and if you fancy yourself a genius or a thinker you might enjoy some of my thoughts. I plan to post whatever thoughts I feel simply must be shared. Just don't take me too seriously, because I don't.
